March 16 2012

Well yesterday Don worked all day on the wiring on the truck so we could have trailer brakes and all the necessary lights and he had to lower the hitch some, so we did not take off for
Siletz.

This morning we are ready I believe and will be taking off, leaving Vancouver and going to Siletz to spend a few days with Dan and Patti.

Mar 14, 2012

Well we have the truck back from Brattain Int.. The big box has been removed the frame shortened 8 feet new driveline installed and  new u joints installed. Don is now adjusting breaks and wiring trailer breaks and such.  Samantha was able to license it for us and fedex should have registration and such to us by this afternoon.

We are hoping to leave Vancouver tomorrow morning and move to Stiletz, Oregon and spend a few days with Dan and Patty Moore it all depends on if the pass is open. They had about 6 to 8 inches of snow there yesterday and lots of wind that took down some trees and left debri scattered all over the hwy.

March 11, 2012

We found out there is a Joe's Crab Shack in Vanvouver, Don's favorite place to eat so guess where we had dinner.

We are hoping that Bratten Int is finished with the truck tomorrow and that Samantha will be able to license it. While we have very much enjoyed visiting with everyone we are anxious to move on and get out of the rain.

March 8 2012

Well we went to the Portland Expo Center for the big Spring RV Show and Sale. We did not see anything we liked as well as what we have. The new ones look a lot fancier but are not as functional as ours.  Not near the cupboard or closet space as what we have. We were really disappointed because all they had to show was the new model RV's no vendors with RV supplies and maintenance items were there. We did not buy a single thing.

Mar 7 2012

Well we went and checked on the truck to see what progress has been made. They have the big steel sleeper box off and have closed up the walkway between cab and sleeper. They are now ready to move axle and shorten the frame by 8 ft.

March 5 2012

We are still in Vancouver, WA, we will be here all this week. Don took the truck to Bratten Int. right across the river in Portland, OR. They are going to remove the big sleeper box, move the rear axle forward and shorten the frame. Don hopes in doing this he will remove some weight from the truck and create a better turning radius for an RV toter.
